Whitewater Heritage Project
The Whitewater Heritage Project will begin the work of documenting the people, places, collections, and stories that shaped American whitewater.
Through oral-history interviews, digital archiving, artifact cataloging, and the preservation of historic photography, film, records, and equipment, the project will help identify what exists, where it is held, and what may be at risk of being lost.
The project is also envisioned as a way to make whitewater history more accessible through online resources, research, storytelling, and future traveling exhibits. Its purpose is not simply to gather materials, but to preserve their meaning and connect them with the people and communities they represent.
